Joey Shura

E.F.D.A., R.D.H., O.M.T.

I have been working in different facets of dentistry for over 20 years. Starting my career as a dental assistant, I studied at the University of Maryland. I became an office manager to a sleep focused practice and decided to become a dental hygienist. I received my RDH at the Community College of Baltimore and graduated magna cum laude. After further seeing the connection between airway disorders and dental health, I decided to learn the practice of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy, so I could address not just symptoms- but the actual problem.

Helping patients see the important connection between oral health and overall systemic health is the focus of my work. Dentistry is evolving into a much more holistic, total wellness field. I am thrilled that airway, and the connection to oral issues is finally being taught in dental schools.

Joey, originally from Maryland, has returned to her hometown of Baltimore, where she is dedicated to helping others achieve a fuller state of health and wellness.
